Falling Leaves

I took a walk last night around my neighborhood and noticed that some of the leaves are starting to change and fall already! :( So tonight I came up with this card for my first stamp class at the Oconomowoc park and rec. Hopefully they like it. It's simple but I think its nice.

Stamps: Lovely as a tree

Inks: Chocolate chip and various colored stampin write markers

paper: kraft, more mustard, really rust

what I did: I stamped the image in choclate chip and then just colored in various areas with the markers. Using the Aqua painter I went over the colored area and blended the colors together. I stamped the leaves in various colors on the kraft and distressed the edges of the paper around the image.

Wedding, Boats and Rivers

Well this past weekend I took a trip with a highschool friend and her family to one of our friends weddings in MN. Now the last time I really hung out with either one of these girls was about 8 years ago! It was like a mini trip down memory lane. We had a blast! The wedding was in Woodbury, MN and the reception was in Hudson, Wi. My friend Amy and her family and I did some exploring around that area and happened upon some really cool places. Of course we went to the mall of america but unless you are really in the mood to shop its not the place for you. We had only about 2 hours there so we kinda just walked quickly around to take it all in. Here are some pics from my trip. I'm going to begin working on the scrap book so I don't forget what happened! Goal is to have it done before the end of Sept. Lofty goal I know.

This is Me, Anna (the bride), and Amy the night before the wedding partying with her family.

This is her wedding present. Yes I stamped the enve and everything.

This is downtown Stillwater, MN a very cute old town. We could have spent all day here exploring the shops and taking a river boat ride but we only had two hours!

Tool Time

Well it's Tuesday so that means its Tool Time. I'm looking around my stamp room and I can't really find any tools......... yeah its that bad. This week I will be doing something about it. Catalog kick off is in two weeks and I hope to have things moved around with more room in the stamp room.

Well right here on my desk is Crystal Effects.......you can kind of use it like a tool. It really enhances projects and gives them a good shine and if you use enough it can be kind of 3-D. It does take longer to dry so you have to be patient. I've searched splitcoast and some blogs and found the following things using Crystal Effects. Ok I keep getting Crystal Meth....not what I wanted....Ok here we go. They aren't that excited but all I could find at this point in time.

Look at the cow, the spots are shiny. This is done using a small brushed on layer just to give it a shine.

Ok now take a look at the balloons. This one is using a thicker layer to give it a raised glass look. Makes the balloons look more "real"
